There is a precious weaving of wisdom and knowledge the ancestors of humanity have passed down for countless generations. Regardless of the continent or the culture, the core of these teachings articulate a reverence for the Earth and all of Creation. The people of the high Peruvian Andes are but one indigenous culture that can remind us of what we in the modern West have forgotten. The Earth is a living being. We are more intimately woven into its life, breath by breath, than we are to the lives of those we hold most dear. This is relationshipå most elemental and primal - an occasion to rejoice. But we have forgotten the life sustaining sacred dynamic this implies; reverence, reciprocity and responsibility. More than a scientific 'fix' to our current crisis, we are in need of a deep remembering and a change of heart and mind.
